Old Oak, old oak
What have you seen?
Old oak,
Underneath your cloak
Of sky and leaves
You inhale life
Breathe out
Then life inhales me
And I can only hope
To breathe out the same pure majesty
Of this life's ultimate simplicity
Distilled and bottled daily
In nature's own factory
By kinds like you,
Old Oak
- Here to teach me
What life is all about,
What it means to be free.
What have you seen?
Old oak,
Underneath your cloak
Of sky and leaves
You inhale life
Breathe out
Then life inhales me
And I can only hope
To breathe out the same pure majesty
Of this life's ultimate simplicity
Distilled and bottled daily
In nature's own factory
By kinds like you,
Old Oak
- Here to teach me
What life is all about,
What it means to be free.
