We sometimes hang our hearts
Out on lines
Peg them up, and watch them go round
Hoping those we hold dear
Will make a sound
And look back our way
With something kind to say
About the courage it takes
To continue to put our hearts on the line
Each day...
As some grow bitter
And some dry out
The challenge is to keep leaving them out
And open to all conditions
Always choosing love in the face of fear and doubt.
